A Thanksgiving Blessing~~~~

Hello Everyone, Right now I am staying out of my kitchen while my niece and children are doing pre-Thanksgiving preparations, baking pies, figuring out what foods go into what serving dishes, stretching out the table and setting the table cloth, bringing up the extra chairs, chilling the sparkling cider, and soft drinks (beer for the men folk) and a couple of dogs underfoot hoping for a handout to fall from the counter or table or secretly given to them. But on Thanksgiving everyone who is a practitioner should remember this day as a day of Thanks for the blessings we have and to share them with those who are least fortunate be they human or animal. I remember as a child even when my Dad was out of work, how the family would share what they had with those who were in an even worse situation.     My family although practitioners, were and are Catholic, like Marie Laveau.    And the teachings of Jesus is important to me. Thanksgiving is a uniquely American Holiday, a ...

A Super-Super Moon on November 14 (November 15 south of the equator)

Hello Everyone, Get out your bottles of spring water (or if it’s raining your collection bowls) we are going to have a Super-Super Moon on November 14,   we’ve had super moon’s before as a matter of fact the last full Moon in October was a super moon, but nothing like what we will have on November 14 th . That’s because this is the closest the Moon will get to Earth until 25 November 2034, so you really don’t want to miss this one.    The last time we had a Super-Super Moon was in January of 1948, this is because as NASA explains it, “because the Moon has an elliptical orbit, one side - called the perigee - is about 48,280 km (30,000 miles) closer to Earth than the other side (the apogee). When the Sun, the Moon, and Earth line up as the Moon orbits Earth, that’s known as syzygy (definitely something you want to keep in your back pocket for your next Scrabble match). When this Earth-Moon-Sun system occurs with the perigee side of the Moon facing us, and the Moon happens ...

I'm back and feeling better and my thoughts on this Presidential Election~~~~

Hello Everyone, This is Ms. Q. I’m back and feeling better, I want to Thank all of you for your Good Wishes for my getting better,   Thank You again. Some of you have posted questions please be patient I will answer them as soon as humanly possible. I have to admit that when I get a vaccination shot be it for the flu, shingles (that can really hurt), or pneumonia, that I am flattened, down and out for the count, and the only thing is to rest for a few days,   no fever or chills, just a general achiness, sleepiness and tiredness, more than usual.   And as one gets older one has to be careful even with vaccinations. This one really did me in,   I know with younger folks they feel a little off, the arm hurts and then the next day they’re fine.    Not me, just let me find my bed and let me sleep. And it seems I slept through all the “nail biting” watching the results of the polls, well as I said to my niece “It’s in the hands of the people” and the people spok...
